Saudi ICT infrastructure group Tawal names new CEO

RIYADH, December 30, 2019

Tawal, a leading Saudi ICT infrastructure company, has appointed Engineer Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Alhakbani as its new chief executive effective January 12, 2020.

Alhakbani, an industry veteran with 20 years of experience in the telecom sector, holds a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and a Master's degree in Computer Engineering from King Saud University.

He had previously worked in many positions at STC starting in 2003 as a planning engineer for the broadband network. After that in 2007, he moved abroad to work as a project manager responsible to launch STC’s subsidiary mobile network in Indonesia.

In mid-2011, Alhakbani was promoted to the position of General Manager of Network Services and Solutions. And in 2015, he joined the Enterprise unit in STC as VP of Business Operations and then after VP of Enterprise Accounts sales, managing the sales team that offers telecom and ICT services to the Enterprise and SME segment.

Lauding the appointment, Chairman Ameen bin Fahad Alshiddi said: "On behalf of the Board of Directors, we are delighted to welcome Engineer Mohamed within the company. He is one of the chief experts in the field and we are confident that he will reinforce the company's leading role in providing integrated ICT infrastructure."

"We wish him every success in his new position and in enhancing the company’s performance to the highest levels to achieve its goals in supporting the desired digital transformation in the Kingdom, according to the National Transformation Program 2020, and Vision 2030," he added.

Tawal is well-positioned to lead the next hi-tech transformation by offering the ideal answer to customers in search of a reliable and cost-efficient ICT infrastructure that would ensure optimal operations for their business.
