Batelco launches new series of cybersecurity webinars

MANAMA, October 14, 2020

Bahrain's leading telecom services operator Batelco has recently launched a series of webinars focused on topics related to cybersecurity, including next generation firewalls, cloud assets, converged security and the new standards in wireless data.

Cybersecurity is growing in importance as the majority of companies collect, process, and store large amounts of data on computers and other devices and need to protect this data and the systems used to process and store it, said Batelco in its statement.

According to a Cybersecurity Ventures report, it is predicted by 2021, a business will be exposed to a cybersecurity attack every 11 seconds.

Understanding this broad topic in order to select the right cybersecurity for a business is challenging, and this presented Batelco with an opportunity to engage with its customers by launching the series of informative webinars.

According to Batelco, the series of webinars is being carried out in collaboration with a number of its technology partners including Cisco, Palo Alto, SonicWall, Huawei and Sophos.

The webinars are designed to give the participants the opportunity to interact with cybersecurity experts and gain hands-on experience with cybersecurity tools, it stated.

On the new programme, Batelco Enterprise General Manager Abderrahmane Mounir said: "We are very pleased to host these webinars, which aim to enhance the knowledge of participants across the field of cybersecurity and increase their understanding of the various solutions and tools available to protect their business."

"This will support our customers to strengthen their digital security, and ultimately protect them from potential risks," he stated.

Abderrahmane said Batelco has been holding regular events and workshops for its business customers, and therefore was keen to continue with these plans, but differently to adapt to the current circumstances, through webinars.

"We listened to our customers’ comments as we are very committed to understand their requirements, and carefully designed the series of webinars to address the trending topics related to cybersecurity," he noted.

"We are very pleased with the response to the webinars that have already taken place and look forward to continuing with this series going forward, to help our customers with their decision making on how best to protect their businesses in relation to cybersecurity," he added.-TradeArabia News Service
