New police chief for Dubai

Dubai, November 24, 2013

Major General Khamis Matar Al Mazeina has been appointed as the commander-in-chief of Dubai Police effective Saturday (Novewmber 23), a Wam report said.

The decree in this regard was issued by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

Al Mazeina, who was the deputy commander-in-chief prior to being named acting commander-in-chief last month, said in his new role he would continue his dedication to excellence and keeping Dubai peaceful and secure.

Al Mazeina replaces Lt. General Dhahi Khalfan Tamim, who became the deputy chairman of Dubai Police and Public Security in October.
