Bahrain inks key sports deal

Bahrain General Organisation for Youth and Sport (Goys) has signed three deals worth more than BD1 million ($2.63 million) as part of a drive to upgrade the sports infrastructure in the country, said a report.

Goys president Hisham Mohammed Al Jowder signed the agreements.

The first one, with Al Gudaibiya Contracting, at a cost of BD535,368, involves rebuilding Isa Town Club’s premises. The new building will have a multi-purpose double-storey sports gym, a reception hall, administrative offices and computer conference and health facilities.

The second, signed with Orland Construction Company, is to build a new artificial football stadium at East Riffa Club at a cost of BD162,801.

The third agreement costing BD350,000 is to provide irrigation water for grass in stadiums and sports clubs.-TradeArabia News Service
