Dubai govt upgrades payroll system

Dubai Smart Government (DSG) has completed the upgrading of its payroll system within the Government Resource Planning System (GRPS) to help pay allowances to employees in an automated manner while taking into account all relevant conditions and excluded holidays.
The upgraded payroll system, which aims to save time and effort, is in line with the executive council’s resolution on the organization of ‘Nature of Work Allowance’ for Dubai Government employees.
Running basic operations of Dubai government entities while maintaining the privacy of each, DSG’s Government Resources Planning Department upgraded the Payroll System in record time.
The enhancement will enable all the 42 government entities to grant employees their increment retroactively as of July 2013, inclusive of December salaries, by simply entering employees’ names into the system in a seamless, professional and error-free manner, said the DSG in its statement.
A specialized team from the payroll division of the Government Resources Planning Department updated the system to support government entities in paying allowances to employees in an automated manner while taking into account all relevant conditions and excluded holidays.
Ahmed Bin Humaidan, the director general of Dubai Smart Government emphasized the positive impact the allowance will have on all employees by enabling government entities to attract more competencies and talents in line with the vision to promoting the welfare of society and UAE nationals in particular.
"The value-added systems used by government entities are designed to upgrade the system from a single point, enabling these organizations to leverage the upgrades to save time and effort," he noted.
Huda Al Hashimi, the director of Government Resources Planning Department at DSG, said upgrading the government payroll system by adding new allowances and integrating them to selected job categories and rates was done seamlessly and in record time.
