Law firms to be awarded in Dubai

In-house legal teams and private practice law firms are set to be recognised at a major awards ceremony, which will be held in Dubai on May 15.
The third annual Corporate Counsel Middle East Awards 2014 will be held at the Westin Dubai Mina Seyahi Hotel.
It is being jointly hosted by Legal Week, a leading international magazine for business lawyers and the Corporate Counsel Middle East Group (CCME), a membership group for in-house legal counsel in the Middle East
The award categories for in-house counsel include ‘General Counsel of the Year’, ‘Legal Department of the Year’ (large and small teams), ‘Legal Counsel of the Year’, ‘Legal Team of the Year’ and joint awards for both private practice and in-house lawyers include the ‘Innovation and CSR Awards’.
The private practice lawyers categories include ‘International and Middle East Law Firm of the Year’ and practice teams of the year in banking, finance and restructuring; litigation and dispute resolution; transportation, energy and infrastructure; corporate; property and construction; ‘Competition & Regulatory and Commercial Team of the Year.’
The jury will also award the ‘Corporate Counsel Middle East Group Achievement Award.’
CCME president Elias Hayek, vice president, legal, EAME division, Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide, said: “Following the success of the 2013 Awards, we hope to attract more than 500 guests to the major awards ceremony in the Middle East legal calendar. Once again we are delighted that the 2014 Awards are supporting Oxfam's Syria Appeal with a $10,000 donation.”
