Iran playing increasing role in Bahrain unrest

Manama, March 5, 2014

There is increasing evidence of Iran’s involvement in fomenting unrest in Bahrain, said a report in Britain’s Financial Times newspaper.

A Western official told the daily that markings on recently-seized arms showed clear signs of Iranian involvement, reported the Gulf Daily News (GDN), our sister publication.

A remotely-detonated bomb, which exploded on Monday in Daih, comes as officials say increasingly advanced explosives and techniques are being employed against the security forces.

Large amounts of “deadly weaponry” have been seized in recent raids and there is evidence of Bahrain is being trained by Iran via insurgent groups with links to the Revolutionary Guard, the report added. - TradeArabia News Service
