Abu Dhabi rolls out 'mobile court'

Abu Dhabi, April 27, 2014

Abu Dhabi has set up a new mobile courtroom inside a double-decker bus as part of the emirate's efforts to improve its judicial services.

The Abu Dhabi Judicial Department said the vehicle is fully equipped to accommodate trials, with room on board for the judges, prosecutors, clerks, reported the National.

While on its top floor, the bus will house an administrative office upstairs where staff will answer public inquiries.

The new 'mobile court' will travel across Abu Dhabi to visit schools, universities and residential areas to help raise awareness on the judicial procedures throughout the emirate.

It will serve as an official court in cases regarding people who cannot make it to the main courtroom in the city, such as those in labour camps or people with special needs.
