Saudi not to extend visit visas
Riyadh, May 15, 2014
Saudi Arabia has decided not to extend visit visas from June 28, an official was quoted as saying by an Arab News report.
The step was taken to give opportunities for others, including Umrah visitors, to come to the kingdom, said Passport Department spokesman Lt. Col. Ahmed Al-Laheedan in the report.
However, visas for Syrians living in the kingdom would be renewed, he said.
He urged all foreigners who have come on visit visas to leave the kingdom prior to the expiry of their visas to avoid punitive measures, the report said.
