Omega honours Olympic Games Tokyo with new timepieces

SWITZERLAND, July 25, 2019

With the Summer Olympics in Tokyo now just a year away, Swiss luxury watchmaker Omega is marking the countdown with the launch of two new limited edition timepieces.

Omega has been the Official Timekeeper of the Olympic Games 28 times since 1932 and in 2020, Omega will be at the event for the 29th time, continuing its proud legacy behind the clock.

Omega will produce just 2,020 pieces of each in the Tokyo 2020 Limited Edition series, the company said.

Seamaster Aqua Terra Tokyo 2020 Limited Edition
Just like the athletes at the Olympic Games, the Seamaster Aqua Terra performs beautifully on land and on the water. For this sporty Tokyo 2020 model, Omega has introduced the collection’s first ceramic dial – crafted with a polished blue finish and a laser-engraved Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games emblem.

Elsewhere, the symmetrical 41 mm case is built from stainless steel and includes a sapphire crystal case back with a transferred Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games emblem.

Limited to just 2,020 pieces, the watch comes ready for action on a structured blue rubber strap and includes an additional stainless steel bracelet in its special presentation box. Inside, the timepiece is driven by the Omega Master Chronometer Calibre 8900, delivering the Swiss industry’s highest standard of precision and magnetic-resistance – exactly what you’d expect from an Official Timekeeper.

Seamaster Planet Ocean Tokyo 2020 Limited Edition
Every host country of the Olympic Games brings a unique flair and culture to the event. Japan is no exception. Omega is truly looking forward to its time in Tokyo and has crafted this patriotic Seamaster with a true Japanese touch.

The 39.5 mm case is in stainless steel and includes a white ceramic bezel ring with its diving scale in Omega Liquidmetal. In tribute to the year of Tokyo 2020, the number 20 on the bezel is filled with red liquid ceramic.

The polished white ceramic dial continues the Tokyo theme with a special lollipop central seconds hand! Beautifully representing the flag of Japan, its tip has been crafted with a varnished red dot.

Also limited to just 2,020 models, this timepiece is driven by the Omega Master Chronometer Calibre 8800 and features a sapphire crystal case back with a transferred Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games emblem. It is delivered on a white leather strap and includes a stainless steel bracelet and additional Nato strap in its presentation box. - TradeArabia News Service
