Hermes Arabia corporation is set to host the third International Yoga Festival – a historical nine-day event, in the region.
Titled “The Wonders of the World Peace Pilgrimage: From Giza to Petra', the event is scheduled to take place in both Egypt and Jordan from May 30 to June 7.
Announcing this at a press conference in the Kempinski Hotel in Amman, Hermes Arabia CEO & Managing Director Bashir Daoud said the event will kick-off on May 30, with a world-class concert in celebration of the event at the Oberoi Mena House – Giza on the footsteps of the Great Pyramids of Egypt.
The daily schedule will also be filled with Yoga classes, lectures and workshops, health and beauty tips with teachers and masters of the highest order, he said.
The following day, a special ceremony will be conducted inside the Khofo Pyramid. Highlighting the third day of the festival participants can partake in classes in both Egypt and Jordan as the festival journeys to the lowest point on earth, the Dead Sea hosted by the Marriott Hotel.
'This liberating journey across Jordan will also include visits to other spiritually and historically enlightening sites, including Mount Nebo, also known as the burial place and passing of the prophet Moses,' Daoud noted.
Other areas to be visited during the festival include the baptismal site of Jesus and the 2,000 year old recently appointed 2nd wonder of the world, the ancient City of Petra.
Making optimal use of Jordan’s natural and historical treasures and wonders, the event’s organisers are also set to offer attendees a first hand experience of traditional Jordanian folklore and dance fused in with classical Indian music.
Specialised programs for Women, children and people with special needs will also form part of this rich experience, Daoud pointed out.
“The main philosophy of our festival is to propagate the ancient teachings of Yoga, as we understand that Yoga principles can be incorporated in our daily lives. This ancient technique serves as a means to help dissolve the stresses of everyday modern life, for the benefits of Yoga are many including greater overall awareness, spiritual renewal and radiant health.'
Elaborating further on the benefits of Yoga, director of Yoga Synthesis producer and festival organiser Anthony Sadasiva said yoga can bring together ones inner and outer nature and promote radiant health.
'Yoga exercise also serves as a lubricating routine for joints, muscles and other parts of the body. It helps increase the circulation and flexibility of the body, and it is also a means keeping the heart and mind calm despite stress imposed on us by daily life,' he explained.TradeArabia News Service
