Experts discuss motorsports festival
Abu Dhabi

Key representatives from the custom, tuning and motorsports industry met with organisers United Business Media to discuss how best the upcoming sports event Barbican Turbo can serve the industry.

Barbican Turbo is the Middle East’s custom, tuning and motorsports festival and will run from October 8 to 10 at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre.

“We are especially pleased the organisers have decided to involve us and other companies in the event process as it allows them to produce an event that we actually want and need to support our businesses goals,” said  Swen Roters, managing director of Foilacar, at the meeting that took place in the Dubai Westin Mina Seyahi hotel on June 22.

“Our target market are VIP customers and as a result of discussions we are now working with United Business Media to develop a VIP zone within the show and how best to attract other companies with VIP products and customers to Barbican Turbo for this year,” Roters added.

Some of the other topics covered in the meeting included show features such as world-class drifting demonstrations, the Top 100, the 2nd National Sound-Off, the 1st National Dyno Shoot-Out, the music stage and the gaming zone as well as show zones - the Paddock, the Japanese Tuning zone, European and American companies that are taking part and the Local Heroes zone – a zone which the organisers are calling to be filled with the best of the best companies from within the UAE.

Matt Tarrant, show manager said: “We decided to hold this meeting to show further support to the industry and to be innovative in this respect, our goal is to deliver the very best event we can over the long term, for many years to come and we feel by listening to what the industry has to say we are a step closer to doing this.”

“The meeting was a success and we will be organising a follow-up meeting shortly,” he added. “As an open forum we are also keen to have input from other companies and anyone in the industry who is interested should contact us directly.”

Barbican Turbo will also run alongside Adrenaline Sports Live, presented by Rani for the second year in a row. This is the country’s annual meeting for the adventure and adrenaline sports communities, related companies and tourism bodies who want to promote their adventure travel in their home country packages.

Barbican Turbo provides companies with the opportunity to interact with current and future customers and as such, organisers United Business Media feel direct input from the industry about the future development of Barbican Turbo and how it can meet the needs of companies who wish to promote their products and services is critical to its success. – TradeArabia News Service
