Reuters to expand GRM platform in Mena
Dubai, October 22, 2012
Thomson Reuters, one the world’s leading sources of intelligent information for businesses and professionals, has announced the expansion of its government revenue management (GRM) platform in the Mena region.
Used by 1,600 government entities in more than 46 countries to collect $100 billion in revenues annually, the GRM platform will help guide Mena governments with property assessment, property valuation and revenue collection, a statement from Reuters said.
The GRM platform will also help modernise land administration and land management, improving information quality by creating an integrated digital infrastructure.
Mena governments recognise the need for development to enhance revenue generation and to achieve sustainable growth. The adoption of a comprehensive automated land administration process, based on worldwide best practices, will help governments benchmark and insure sustainable revenue generation, which will help create prosperity and growth.
“Thomson Reuters is committed to helping governments through transferring knowledge and enabling local communities to register their formal documents legally. We believe that the GRM platform will help to build cohesive societies and resilient economies across the Mena region,” said Peter Rabley, vice president of global business development, government, for the tax & accounting business of Thomson Reuters.
“Mena governments will gain a holistic view of land and property information maintained by agencies and departments throughout every level of their organisation.”
“This will result in improved service delivery and more timely access to information through faster and easier to use web-based services for policy and decision makers, businesses and private citizens. These processes will enable governments in the region to realise financial and operational benefits,” he added. – TradeArabia News Service
