Bahrain launches new promotion campaign
Manama, October 28, 2013
The Economic Development Board (EDB) has launched a new advertising and promotional campaign aimed at emphasising Bahrain's position as a business, investment and family tourism destination.
Titled "See You in Bahrain", the campaign is the first of a series planned for the GCC region, reported the Gulf Daily News, our sister publication. It started yesterday (October 27) on regional TV channels, newspapers and magazines.
The campaign follows a decade of economic reform which places the kingdom well on the way to achieving the vision of raising the living standards of citizens while combining a strong regional identity with the highest international business standards, it stated.
"This is in line with the government's policy to provide all possible facilities to corporations, particularly those from the GCC, to invest in Bahrain and make the most of the benefits provided to them," Transportation Minister and EDB acting chief executive Kamal Ahmed said.
"The campaign also aims to attract families to the festivals, events and different means of entertainment provided in the kingdom throughout the year," he noted.
Bahrain is an exciting regional tourism destination with 33 islands, a cosmopolitan capital city, and attractive monuments such as the Al Khamis Mosque, dating back to 692 AD, to the Bahrain International Circuit - host of the Bahrain Formula One.
"We have recently dedicated efforts to reach out to our target audience and increase awareness on the lifestyle and economic privileges the kingdom provides," EDB director of global marketing Rima Al Kilani said.
"We will further aim through the new promotional and marketing campaigns to enhance this image regionally and introduce our audience to more benefits and privileges the kingdom provides in terms of tourism and entertainment," she stated.
The EDB relaunched the Bahrain.com website with new content to familiarise investors with the latest updates and continuous economic reforms that the government of Bahrain works on achieving.
Several new features were added to the website making it easier for investors to obtain information.
This includes interactive features which are user-friendly, easily providing information about Bahrain's economic environment, its efforts to facilitate the establishment of projects and entities as well as the investment opportunities available in the industrial and trade sectors.
The added features enable the EDB to examine the behavior and interests of the browsers, for it can through the collection of information advance its electronic services to become more effective and successful.
This website is the second that is run by the EDB besides its main portal www.bahrainedb.com which displays information about the board and the services it provides to investors.
The past two years have shown that Bahrain's business fundamentals are strong, economic stability is secure and public safety is assured.
The long term outlook is positive, with a growth rate of 3.4 per cent last year resulting from strong growth in the non-oil sector, and this is expected to increase to over 5 per cent for the current year.-TradeArabia News Service
