AP Moller-Maersk sponsors safety equipment

Manama, November 12, 2013

AP Moller - Maersk Group of Companies in Bahrain are sponsoring a Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) for the excavation of an ancient archaeological site in A’Ali.

The group comprises APM Terminals, the operators of Khalifa bin Salman Port; Svitzer, the Marine service provider; and Maersk Line.

The provision of safety gear and clothing to the team of archaeologists by the group is in keeping with its strategy that ‘safety comes first’ and aims to support excavation work to establish Bahrain’s rich heritage.

The excavations are being carried out by experts from Moesgaard Museum in Denmark in collaboration with Bahrain’s Directorate of Archaeology.

The site is said to be the first royal mounds from the Dilmun era discovered in Bahrain and should offer vital clues into the Bronze Age of Dilmun and a timeline of the ruling elite, previously not known. - TradeArabia News Service
