Timeless classic 'Peter Pan' to be staged in Dubai
Dubai, January 22, 2014
‘Peter Pan – The Never Ending story’ is set to be staged in Dubai this March.
The Dubai World Trade Centre arena will host 10 shows, which is a mix of theatre, illusion, circus, movie and rock, said a statement.
It will feature 50 dancers, stuntmen, acrobats, magicians and actors from 10 different countries.
The technical effects include walls, forests and buildings, which dissolve, disappear and re-form; waterfalls cascade out of the ether lush rivers; wind across the stage; shooting stars; London roof-top scenes; pirates with cutlasses rampaging with lost boys bouncing and somersaulting through the air on bungees at ‘heart-in-the-throat’ heights.
It will also feature a free-flying performance by Peter Pan, said the statement.
The show is based on JM Barrie’s English classic, which has endeared the story to generations, it said.
The musical director is Matt Dunkley, the soundtrack mastermind behind ‘Moulin Rouge,’ who will bring 16 top tracks from top artists including Robbie Williams, Rod Stewart, Supertramp, Seal and Puccini.
It is being directed by Luc Petit, while the artistic director is Geert Allaert, choreography is led by ex-ballet dancer Martino Muller from Switzerland. - TradeArabia News Service
