Prepaid industry trade body to meet in Dubai

London, February 2, 2014

Prepaid International Forum (PIF), an international not-for-profit trade association, has highlighted the programme for its upcoming Middle East Chapter meeting in Dubai.

The meeting will be held at the Dusit Thani Dubai on February 12.

The opportunity to position prepaid as a sustainable payment solution in key segments such as youth and the unbanked is rapidly emerging, as is the potential for prepaid to enhance financial inclusion, said a statement.

It is against this backdrop that PIF will provide meeting delegates with an in-depth look at the role of BIN Sponsors and programme managers.

The presentation, titled "Business Models and BIN Sponsorship 101," will provide a high-level description of business model options and case studies on successful programmes.

The discussion will also focus on how the industry can work together to promote and demonstrate the benefits of prepaid products and the positive role it plays in the financial services space.

Launched in 2013 under the patronage of TSYS, PIF Middle East aims to help shape and promote the development of prepaid in the region.

PIF chairman Robert Courtneidge said: "The opportunity for prepaid in the Middle East is vast and the need for a neutral body that works proactively to encourage and stimulate growth has never been stronger. I look forward to joining our Middle East Chapter colleagues in February to build on the steps we are taking to advance the industry." - TradeArabia News Service
