Team promotes Canton Fair in UAE
Dubai, March 2, 2014
A Chinese trade delegation from the China Foreign Trade Centre Group, a government-sponsored institution affiliated with the Ministry of Commerce, visited the UAE as part of its move to invite more UAE-based businesses to participate at its trade fair.
The China Import and Export Fair is a bi-annual event more popularly known as the Canton Fair and will take place in three phases at Guangzhou, with the participation of 24,000 of the country’s foreign trade groups and 500 leading international companies.
The first phase, which will run from April 15 to 19, will feature electronics and household appliances, lighting, vehicles and spare parts.
The second phase, which will take place from April 23 to 27, will feature consumer goods, toys and home decorations; and the third phase, which will run from May 1 to 5, will feature textile and garments, shoes, office supplies, medical products, food and native produce and an international pavilion.
The visiting group was headed by its president Wang Runsheng, who hosted a special media briefing at Samaya Hotel in Dubai, where he reported the latest updates on the preparations for the coming trade show and also shared his insights on the bilateral economic and trade relations between the UAE and China.
“The UAE has always been one of China's most trusted economic partners in the Middle East region--strategically serving as a transfer hub for Chinese products that are exported to Middle East and nearby African market,” said Runsheng.
“In line with this, we are encouraging UAE businessmen to come and take part at this year’s Canton Fair, where they can leverage their products and a service across some of our country’s leading trade entities but also with some of the world’s top companies.” - TradeArabia News Service
