Kuwait DAI to start training programme

Kuwait, March 5, 2014

Dar al-Athar al-Islamiyyah (DAI), a cultural organisation based in Kuwait, will start training of its new docents (specially trained volunteers) from the middle of this month which will be offered in both English and Arabic.

The docents play an important role in the operation of the Amricani Cultural Centre. They host the guests to the museum, from classroom visits to VIPS, participate in the implementation of special events, conferences, and exhibition opening, and support the organization in a myriad of other ways, said a statement from DAI.

“The contribution of our docents cannot be overestimated, remarked Sheikha Hussah Sabah al-Salem al-Sabah, DAI director general and co-owner of The al-Sabah Collection.

"Just this year, our docents helped launch four new exhibitions, participated in an international conference on art and antiquity, contributed to the success of our first International Museum Day event, introduced the exhibitions to almost 1,000 children from some 60 classrooms, and hosted guests from Kuwait cultural organisations and visiting dignitaries from around the world," she added.-TradeArabia News Service
