WPN Bahrain hosts business talk series

Manama, March 24, 2014

Bahrain-based Women’s Professional Network (WPN) hosted its first Business Talk Series at the Capital Club recently.

The network is a non-profit group of professional volunteers established in 2013.

It is aimed at working together to build a better working world for their community through volunteer work, services and mentorship.

The discussion featured WPN co-founder and member Amal Y Al Moayyed, who is an entrepreneur and family business partner. She is the executive director of Ashrafs and a board member for YK Almoayyed Group.

Other members include Marjan Modara, Narise Kamber, Rasha Khunji, Dalia ElMardi, Andrea Antal-Al Borno and Doris Martin.

In the first session in the new series, Al Moayyed focused on setting up a new business, whether joining a family conglomerate or starting off on an independent scale.

She shared her triumps, challenges and ideas on how she found her own professional identity and success within the family business and suggested future developments and opportunities.

Martin, the assistant HR director for the EY Mena talent team moderated the session.

“The DNA growth of family business is managing capital, sustaining growth, managing and retaining talent, next generation planning, balancing risk, future management structure and corporate responsibility,” said Martin. - TradeArabia News Service
