Arab Film and TV Awards design unveiled

London, June 10, 2014

The producers of the first Arab Film and TV Awards (AFTVA) set to take place on February 3 next year in London today unveiled the initial prototype design concept for the Screen Falcon Award.

The award will be given to 25 recipients from the Arab and Western film and television industry at the glittering awards ceremony, said a statement.

AFTVA has been created to help promote, support and develop film and television talent in the Middle East region and to promote Arab culture worldwide, it said.

The award has been designed and is being created by British luxury goods company Grant Macdonald. The world renowned goldsmiths and silversmiths company is already well known in the Middle East for its quality and excellence with regular commissions from royal households across the region, said the statement.

A spokesman from AFTVA said: “We have specially chosen Grant Macdonald for the design and creation of the Screen Falcon Award to represent the highest quality and craftsmanship that is signature to their brand.”

Each Screen Falcon Award will be made up of a hallmarked sterling silver falcon with 24ct gold plating on a crystal glass base, with a 24ct gold plated Sterling silver plaque that will have the recipients’ name and category engraved upon.

The full list of the award categories for AFTVA will be announced in the coming months and all recipients of the awards will be selected by the AFTVA committee who themselves will be announced in the coming weeks.

Besides awarding the best of Arab film, television and acting talent, the AFTVA committee will also give special awards to Western film, television and acting talent, as well as a Lifetime Achievement Award and Humanitarian Award on the night.

The actual Screen Falcon Award in its full glory will be officially unveiled to the Arab and international media at a press conference in September in London. - TradeArabia News Service
