Sheikh Zayed Heritage Festival...celebrating UAE heritage.

Sheikh Zayed Heritage Festival gears up for fifth edition

ABU DHABI, October 1, 2014

A festival honouring the founding fathers of the UAE and showcasing a rich variety of attractions and activities will take place in Abu Dhabi from November 20.

The fifth edition of the Sheikh Zayed Heritage Festival, which aims to promote the UAE’s historical legacy across the globe, will run for 20 days at the Al Wathba camel racetrack.

The nation’s history will be portrayed through four national environments that have shaped its past: desert, oasis, mountains and seas.

Abdul Raheem Al Bateeh, director of public service affairs at Abu Dhabi Media, said: "Sheikh Zayed Heritage Festival is a unique occasion that has a place in the heart of every Emirati and bears the name of Sheikh Zayed. It reminds us of our founding father’s efforts in preserving and promoting our heritage.”

Strategic partners of the festival are National Archives, Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority, Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority and Abu Dhabi Media.

Last year, a large number of visitors enjoyed multiple attractions in the Al Wathba area, with the successful event being held under the patronage of HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi. The festival also featured glorious performances to celebrate National Day, including a parade of over 5,000 Emiratis marching to honour the founding father and using their movements to showcase historical scenes. – TradeArabia News Service
