Bahrain lines up key events for WEC race

MANAMA, November 15, 2014

Fans attending the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) Six Hours of Bahrain at the Bahrain International Circuit (BIC), Sakhir, will have plenty of exciting activities to enjoy one after the other.

These begin at 12.45pm with a pit walk for all ticket holders. An autograph session will be held involving all of the WEC's superstar drivers from 12.50pm. They will sign memorabilia and pose for photographs, reported the Gulf Daily News, our sister publication.

Fans can also take selfies with their favourite drivers and post their pictures on Instagram using the hashtag #6HBahrain. Five lucky winners will enjoy an exclusive BIC tour.

A stunt show will be performed by world-renowned Red Bull athletes Abdo Feghali and Jokke Sommer at 2pm. Feghali will put on a show of his drifting prowess while Sommer will be performing a wing-suit sky dive from 5,000 ft, said the report.

There will also be a raffle draw for a chance to win the grand prize of a trip-for-two to France to attend the 2015 24 Hours of Le Mans. Other prizes up for grabs include 36 top-of-the-line mobile devices such as the Apple iPhone 6 and Samsung Galaxy Note.

To win a prize, ticket holders must be in their seats during the draw.

Officials will conduct the draw on site and locate the prize winners at the same time. Anyone whose ticket number is drawn but is not in their seat at the time they are called, will miss out on the opportunity to go home a winner.

The Six Hours of Bahrain will begin at 3pm and the day's events will culminate with a concert by popular Egyptian singer Tamer Hosny at 9pm.

BIC has also lined up plenty of off-track entertainment throughout the day.

There will be a novelty show for children, including singing and dancing. A group of performers will be showcasing all-time favourites, such as Cinderella, Animal Crackers Party Time and Dazzling Disney Show.

There will also be several roaming acts, including the Freaks Acrobatic Show with their breathtaking gymnastics stunts and awe-inspiring acrobatic moves, Les Dudes, who will be putting on their very own act of high energy circus tricks coupled with funny comedy, the Voodoo Unicycles team, who will be putting on an extreme unicycling display and the Joker Stilt Walkers.

A play area also has been set aside for children, featuring a variety of activities and rides.

Tickets can be purchased at BIC's Welcome Centre located at the circuit entrance and at the BIC sales outlet at City Centre Bahrain's ground level near gate number three. They can be bought online from BIC's official website www.bahraingp.com, and through the BIC hotline 17450000.

Tickets cost BD20 ($52) each for adults and BD10 ($26) for children aged 12 and younger. It's free for toddlers aged up to three.-TradeArabia News Service
