Bahrain launches judicial website

MANAMA, March 17, 2015

A website was launched yesterday as part of a hi-tech upgrade to speed up Bahrain's judicial system, a report said.

The Supreme Judicial Council hosted the ceremony at its office in the Diplomatic Area in the presence of senior officials, government representatives and media personalities, reported the Gulf Daily News, our sister publication.

The website, www.sjc.bh, will present citizens with necessary information about certain cases and verdicts.

It was launched to raise awareness about the country's judicial system, said Supreme Judicial Council president and Cassation Court president Salem bin Mohammed Al Kuwari.

He told the GDN that a special feature will be added to the site in future to allow lawyers to view case files online.

'Everyone will be able to view special cases and will be updated with daily information from Bahrain's judiciary system,' he said.

'This is part of an initiative that will take us towards the 'Smart Judiciary' system of the future.

'This will be the window that will connect everyone.'- TradeArabia News Service
