Emirati director wins big at Dubai film fest
DUBAI, UAE, December 13, 2015
Emirati director Layla Kaylif has won the IWC Filmmaker Award at the 12th Dubai International Film Festival (DIFF) held recently in Dubai.
Kaylif was recognised for her project titled ‘The Letter Writer’, about a young boy who uses his skills as a professional letter writer for personal gain at the expense of his trusting customers.
The award, presented by luxury Swiss watch manufacturer IWC Schaffhausen, comes with a $100,000 prize as well as an IWC timepiece.
An eclectic showcase of the world’s greatest cinema from internationally acclaimed filmmakers and rising stars alike, the DIFF will run for the next three days.-TradeArabia News Service
