Batelco TV, an Internet protocol television (IPTV) service, was launched by Batelco in partnership with Dubai-based direct-broadcast satellite provider Orbit Showtime Network (OSN) and interactive TV technology provider Selevision. IPTV allows for television services to be delivered over the Internet, instead of being delivered through traditional terrestrial satellite signal, and cable television formats, said a report in the Gulf Daily News (GDN), our sister publication.
