Al Ahli unit unveils Marvel super hero collectibles

DUBAI, May 4, 2016

Comicave Studios, a subsidiary of UAE-based Al Ahli Holding Group (AAHG) has unveiled its exclusive, premium collectibles at the world premiere of Captain America: Civil War held recently at Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, USA.

The move comes as part of AAHG’s deal with Marvel Entertainment, a wholly-owned subsidiary of The Walt Disney Company, to be the primary livestream sponsor of the red carpet world premieres of five Marvel Studios blockbusters between 2016 and 2018.

AAHG's theAudience, Universal Events and 117Live will be part of an integrated digital campaign during the premiere. They will serve as activation points to promote the new Comicave Studios collectibles direct from their unveiling on the Captain America: Civil War red carpet.

AAHG’s UAE-based subsidiaries Dubai Outlet Mall, Gold’s Gym and Comicave ran sweepstake campaigns to fly the winners of various competitions from UAE to the red carpet event. The winners, Mayar Jaroudi, Lara Brunt and Nabeel Abdulla, were flown to L.A. on an all-expense paid trip to meet and walk the Red Carpet with the stars of Captain America: Civil War.

The star-studded premiere saw the film’s cast including Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Paul Rudd, Don Cheadle, Anthony Mackie, Tom Holland and others who walked down the red carpet.

Comicave Studios’ Captain America: Civil War’s Super Hero collectibles in 1/8th scale wowed the Hollywood celebrities, as the new collectibles have been based on individual characters from the film. The unique and detailed designing of the collectibles was much-talked about amongst the celebrities. The unique collectibles were also showcased at the after party event of the premiere, where some of the biggest names of the Hollywood industry where present.

“Al Ahli Holding Group continues to strengthen its relationship with Marvel and Disney and with this partnership, we have taken our alliance to the next level as we will sponsor the world premieres of Marvel’s next blockbusters, allowing us to unveil products and brands targeting the right market segments and consumers associated with super hero flicks. We are confident that every premiere turns out to be a milestone in our strategic alliance,” said Mohammad Khammas, CEO, AAHG.

“As part of our ongoing long-term strategy we are focusing on being a human centric organisation where we want our consumers across different segments to have a unique customer experience with our products and services. We have taken our customer experience to an altogether different level as it is not every day that someone would get an opportunity to rub shoulders with world-renowned international celebrities at a world red carpet premiere event in Hollywood,” he added.

AAHG will also be sponsoring the red carpet premieres for Doctor Strange, scheduled for later this year; Guardians of the Galaxy 2 and Thor: Ragnarok in 2017; and Avengers: Infinity War – Part I, in 2018. AAHG, with its presence in 20 countries, plans to further strategically enhance its entertainment businesses and is also looking at charting newer territories internationally. Comicave Studios debuted to international praise at the global red carpet premiere of Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron in Los Angeles in April 2015, wowing pop culture and superhero fans with its animatronic Hulkbuster collectible.

“As part of our brand building exercise, being an exclusive live streaming sponsor during the world premiere of the much-anticipated sequels of Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War and Guardians of the Galaxy 2 will enhance our reach across integrated digital media platforms across AAHG subsidiaries,” said Abdulla Mahmood, director, Marketing and Corporate Communications, AAHG. – TradeArabia News Service
