Star Cinemas inks deal with wi-Q Technologies

UAE-based Star Cinemas has joined hands with wi-Q Technologies, a revolutionary software company, to deploy its app-free mobile ordering and experience platform, wi-Q in all its cinemas in the emirates.

Delivering unrivalled functionality through revolutionary HTML technology, wi-Q Technologies' award-winning platforms enables customer-centric features including automatic language translation, allergen/dietary requirements and multiple payment options, as well as instant ROI to venues via upselling, loyalty and data-driven marketing tools, said the company in a statement.

With this partnership, Star Cinema customers at Star Bawadi Cinema, can now order and pay for drinks, sweets and popcorns on their own mobile device without having to download an app.

The fully-branded mobile ordering menu is instantly accessible via the internet browser on the customer's device, it stated.

Depending on the screen number, customers can either pre-order their desired items for collection, or have them delivered to their seat number. Customers also have the choice of paying via debit / credit card or cash upon collection, it added.

With the new platform, wi-Q, the venue's mobile ordering menu can be accessed in seconds by customers using their own internet-enabled devices (including phones, tablets and laptops) via 3/4G connection or Wi-Fi without having to download an app.

The user can select from the easy to update menu, place their order, make further purchases (think dessert or second cup of coffee), request a bill or pay for their order, exactly when they want to - all in a language of their choice.

It is available on a low-cost SaaS model and can integrate with common hospitality systems, including Oracle Hospitality, it added.-TradeArabia News Service
