Dnata employees raise $400,000 for charity

DUBAI, October 4, 2019

Dnata, one of the world’s largest air services providers, recently raised $400,000 for charity through raffles, bake sales and exercise classes held at events organised by over 15,000 dnata employees around the world.

Across the continents, from Sydney to San Francisco, teams from 26 countries joined the challenge ‘dnata runs the world’ to run the combined distance of the circumference of the world, 40,075 km, while making fundraising pledges at 80 locations. The dedicated dnata team significantly exceeded its target by completing a total of 49,800 km.

Across its global network, dnata partnered with different registered charities in the areas of education, wildlife conservation and humanitarian work. Each team selected the charity that their donations would benefit, based on their own community preferences.

Gary Chapman, president of dnata, said: “Since we launched dnata4good, our global corporate social responsibility programme, thousands of our colleagues have supported our charity partners through fund-raising, donations and even front-line volunteering in the communities in which we operate.

“‘Dnata runs world’ has mobilised us globally at a whole new level and I thank all my colleagues, dnata’s partners and sponsors, for their contribution to this initiative’s success. Together, we’ll continue our efforts to make a positive impact on the world around us. ”

In the UAE, dnata’s 3,000 employees ran a total of 17,000 km and raised funds in support of Dubai Cares’ educational programs in developing countries.

Offering ground handling, cargo, travel, and flight catering services in 35 countries across six continents, dnata is a trusted partner for over 300 airline customers around the world. Each day, the company handles over 1,900 flights, moves over 8,500 tons of cargo, books over 16,000 hotel stays, and uplifts over 320,000 meals. – TradeArabia News Service
