Dubai Mall gears up for National Day celebrations

DUBAI, November 29, 2019

Leading UAE developer Emaar’s flagship project, The Dubai Mall, is celebating the 48th National Day from December 1 to 3, with a wide range of activities under the theme ‘Reflecting on the Past and Looking towards the Future’, to delight residents and visitors alike.

Guests can explore elements of the UAE’s past through an exceptional photographic installation, the Watani Exhibition hosted at The Dubai Mall.

The installation has works from a photo-walk held earlier this year by Watani Al Emarat Foundation for social media photographers to take creative pictures of the UAE’s historic museums.

The inspirational exhibition takes visitors on a unique journey that reflects the nation’s rich legacy through a selection of pictures short-listed from the photo-walk, said the statement.

Customers can also immerse themselves in the UAE’s past traditions and witness traditional Emirati dance performances accompanied by an Al Ardah Band to be held across the mall in partnership with Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM).

On the theme of embracing the future, for the first time in Dubai, visitors can enjoy a hi-tech adaptation of the traditional art of flag waving with rhythmic Robotic Flagsm, said the statement from Emaar.

Two giant 3-m high robots will perform a choreographed flag dance in sync with the UAE National Anthem, it stated.

The three-day installation will be hosted on the Waterfront Promenade with shows every few minutes and will be accompanied by a ‘48th National Day’ backdrop feature offering the perfect Instagrammable moment, it added.

Visitors can also join in the UAE National Day festivities with complimentary UAE Flags, scarves and pins being distributed at Guest Services Desks, while stocks last, said a company spokesman.

"And with National Day decorations throughout the mall visitors can soak up the best of UAE National pride and celebrate together," he added.-TradeArabia News Service
