The first Benefit Truck Tech Festival officially opens its doors to visitors today (December 5) at 6:00pm at the Bahrain Festival Area located in the Bahrain Bay.

The festival, which is part of Bahrain's National Day celebration activities, will run for 10 days, until December 14, from 4:00pm - 12:00am.

The unique festival will connect technology and entertainment through having exclusive offers for BenefitPay users.

Abdulwahed AlJanahi, Benefit CEO, said: “We have the honour to conduct this event under the patronage of the governor of the Capital Governorate, Shaikh Hisham bin Abdul Rahman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, and would like to thank our official partner Gulf Finance House (GFH) for their valued cooperation. Through this event, we wanted to merge technology and entertainment to create a seamless and enjoyable experience for visitors. Most festivals have food trucks and activities that require cash, and we want to change that direction. This also adds more security, and lessens the hassle of carrying cash around. This comes in line with our mission to have a cashless society, and it should be integrated in major events through a fun, and engaging way.”

More than 25 food trucks will be present at the festival with local and global influenced eats, giving visitors the opportunity to enjoy a variety of cuisines by local Bahrainis and entrepreneurs. Visitors will be entertained by live musical performances including local Bahraini bands, and a local DJ on the premises throughout the festival. In addition, the fun-filled family event will include free designated kids spaces where children can be a part of exciting activities for all ages.

Visitors can use Fawri+, or scan the QR code from each merchant to make a payment. This creates a simple and seamless experience. BenefitPay streamlines payments in Bahrain and allows consumers and merchants to transact without the use of cash or cards.
