Mashreq teams up with leading sporting entities in Mena

DUBAI, September 6, 2022

Mashreq, one of the leading financial institutions in the UAE, has partnered with one of the largest padel tennis court operators in the Mena region – JustPadel & SR Padel.

The tie-up – a three-year agreement with JustPadel, in the UAE and the GCC region - will see the two giants of innovation combine in their quest to improve accessibility across their respective sectors, with Mashreq set for more collaborations on several innovative new initiatives with the Padel operator.

In addition, Mashreq has collaborated with another exceptional Padel academy in the region, SR Padel to boost accessibility of the sport in Egypt, which includes a one-year agreement.

First UAE tournament
The first UAE tournament will take place in December of  2022 with subsequent events scheduled in other Just Padel venues such as Mina Rashid, Bright Learner, Ripe Market, Arab Unity School, Uptown School and Kent College. As part of the collaboration, Mashreq employees and customers will benefit from exclusive discounts while booking courts at all JustPadel courts.

Played by two teams of two, the all-action racquet sport, which combines elements of tennis, squash and racquetball, has risen rapidly in popularity around the world, due to its inclusive nature. Participants of all ages can enjoy entertaining matches with family or friends in a safe and fun environment.

Ahmed Abdelaal, Group Chief Executive Office of Mashreq, said: “The accessibility of Padel and the diversity of those who play the sport is something we identify closely with. Given our own efforts to greatly improve access to financial products, notably through our digital channels and the social inclusion this enables, partnering with a leader in the sport, such as Just Padel & SR Padel made perfect sense. At Mashreq we are keen to actively engage the UAE’s & Egypt’s vibrant fanbase by sponsoring and co-hosting Padel tournaments in the country and the Mena region.”

6,500 members
JustPadel boasts over 6,500 members with its membership expected to grow by 50% this year.

Commenting on the partnership, Rashad Al Hashimi, Executive Chairman and Founder of Just Padel Sports Academy, said: “Being the largest Padel providers in the Middle East and North Africa, one of Just Padel’s main goals is to create sustainable communities for players across the UAE and Mena region. We go above and beyond with our services to cater to the growing number of Padel players in the country. With the support of Mashreq, this will play a key role towards achieving that goal.” --TradeArabia News Service
