Dubai , July 24, 2007
PepsiCo International has launched an innovative regional campaign in which five of the most prominent Arab singers appear in a feature film called 'Sea of Stars'.
The movie tells the story of a small boy who dreams about fame. The film's heroes, who are the five famous Arab artists Haifa Wahbi, Wael Kfouri, Ahmed Sharif, Carol Samaha, and Ruweida Al Mahrouqi, decide to assist him and encourage him to believe in his talent so that he can make his dream come true.
'This groundbreaking movie brings together for the very first time a group of famous artists who are very close to the hearts of young people,' said the regional president of Pepsico International Sa'ad Abdul-Latif.
'We are sure that 'Sea of Stars' will attract huge audience of all ages when it is released in the last quarter of this year,' he added.
As part of the 'Sea of Stars' campaign, Pepsico has produced a series of television advertisements, one of which is about the artist Haifa Wahbi's acting experience in the film, which was shot on location in Tripoli in Northern Lebanon.
The TV commercial includes behind-the-scenes footage of Haifa enjoying the experience of being a movie star and shows the impact she made on her fans, who were entranced by her magical beauty.
In another TV commercial in the series, hundreds of fans gather in the streets surrounding the famous Qahwat Al-Qazzaz restaurant in Ashrafieh to see their favorite Lebanese star Carol Samaha.
In the TV commercial, Carol is attracted to a mysteriously attractive stranger who partners her in dancing quick tango steps.
Pepsico launched its 'Sea of Stars' campaign at a gala dinner in Beirut, which was attended by a large number of customers and the company's most important stakeholders in the Middle East and North Africa.
Through this unique project, Pepsico aims at consolidating its leading position in the MENA region by introducing Arab youth to an inspiring and exciting cinematic experience.Trade Arabia News Service
