Incinerators to be set up in Bahrain farm areas
Manama, March 22, 2008
A call has gone out to set up a closed central incinerator and other small ones in agricultural areas across the Kingdom of Bahrain to burn agricultural waste.
This is in compliance with the Stockholm Agreement banning any sort of open air incineration to avert potrential health hazards, said Environmental Control director Dr Afef Al Sho'ala.
The move was also in response to complaints over continuous burning of waste near residential areas.
