Pulse news channel launched

Dubai, June 9, 2008

Pulse, the new community television channel for Dubai Media City, Dubai Internet City and Dubai Knowledge Village, has been launched to provide free zone companies, employees and guests with a unique and innovative corporate communication medium.

The dedicated information and news channel, which will transmit in key areas throughout Dubai Internet City, Dubai Knowledge Village and Dubai Media City, will serve as a community television service for people working in the Tecom free zones, said an official spokemsan.

Playing on a minimum of 60 LCD screens, already supplied by Sharp, who are a key sponsor of Pulse, the information and news channel will be shown in lobbies, waiting areas, VIP areas, food courts and restaurants.

“We are pleased to extend this service to our business partners  and visitors as it demonstrates our commitment to the ongoing development and enhancement of the free zones services and infrastructure,” said CEO of Tecom Business Parks Dr Amina Al Rustamani.

As well as providing an impressive selection of programmes and news features for the community, channel interaction, whereby viewers are encouraged to influence and help to create material for Pulse, will also be part of the service.

Managing partner of Media Workshop, the company credited for the development of the concept and responsible for operating Pulse, Saeed Al-Naji said he was excited by the project and was keen to emphasize the new channel’s community role.

“The majority of the content on Pulse will be sourced and supplied by third parties. Contribution of content by members of the Teceom community is strongly encouraged and will receive priority,” he added.

The channel, which will transmit for 12 hours a day, from 8am to 8pm, will showcase a diverse range of news, information and advice segments, right from the get go, from media partners such as Reuters, Arab Media Group, Metra, and Explorer Publishing.  Others also contributing content include HP, Symantec, The Rights Lawyers, Globaleye, Mefitpro, and Hayya!

Pulse will be officially launched after Ramadan. – TradeArabia News Service
