An Aspire student athlete broke the Qatar indoor pentathlon record in the 15 year old category at the Qatar Cup Indoor Championship – cadet category, hosted at the Aspire Academy for Sports Excellence.

Marzouq Abdulrahman Al Abdulla won the combined event – which includes 60 metres, high jump, long jump, shot putt and 60 metre hurdles – collecting 2650 points.

Also picking up a winners medal was fellow ASPIRE student athlete, Muamar Aissa Barsham, who won the high jump in the 14 year old section, with a jump of 1.70 metres. He also came fourth in the triple jump competition with a leap of 10.31 metres.

In the 13 year old section, Mubarak Jamal Al Fayyad recorded a fourth placed finish in the long jump and 60 metre hurdles.

“I am really please with the way the student athletes performed during the Championship,” said Aspire Athletic’s Head Coach, Ralf Iwan.

“They conducted themselves in a very professional manner and these results will set them up well for the World Youth Championships later this year.”-TradeArabia News Service
