Sharjah TV announces new Ramadan program

Sharjah TV and Radio and Sport Channel has unveiled a new programme for Ramadan which will discuss various aspects of life relevant to the holy month.

“We have looked behind the scenes of the theatre, identified the most valuable plays, and focused on good drama and our best dramatists. We are also focusing our attention on the youth and introducing various aspects of science. We will also attempt to define the rules of fasting, and explain the meaning and purpose of the tradition,” stated Amna Al Nakhi, general manager of Sharjah TV and Radio.

“The Channel will host sports fans at our special Ramadan tent to appraise them about sports news in general and football in particular. There will be several contests too.”

Mohammed Khalaf, general supervisor of Sharjah Radio, said the Sharjah Chanter programme, this year, is the fourth edition of the famous and successful programme. “This year, we bring to our viewers various melodious voices and different styles of performance including Gulf, Moroccan, Levantine, Iraqi and other styles that are popular in the Arabian region,” he added.

“The Radio has assigned appropriate programmes for the Holy Month including daily live and recorded contests in addition to a drama series in the local dialect and others in formal Arabic language,” added Khalaf.

During the month, Sharjah TV will also host contests like Sharjah Chanter 4 and recorded contests such as 'Al Namous'. Dawri Al Nojoum and Marmas Al Osra and Drama Movies will also be part of Ramadan programmes.-TradeArabia News Service
