UAE Interiors to host live hotel demo
Dubai, January 13, 2010
Interiors UAE, a flagship event for the design-led interiors sector in the Middle East, is set to host the country's first live hotel environment demonstration.
Sleepotel, the live hotel environment where renowned architects and interior designers present their design concepts and future trend predictions, will debut at the interior show in Abu Dhabi, said Cathy Oates, the organiser of the event which runs from March 29 to 31.
The Sleepotel comprises a hotel entrance designed by Atelier Nini Andrade Silva, a Lisbon-based interior architecture and design firm who work internationally on commissions ranging from hospitality projects and private housing to exclusive furniture and equipment.
“Sleepotel was launched at our UK event dedicated to the creation of hotels and was an instant success, demonstrating how architects and designers can capitalise, through clever design on those often underutilised areas within a hotel,” she observed.
"When prompted, the company immediately thought of leaving planet Earth and how the different surroundings would force them to leave everything that is normal. This concept will encourage the business traveller to ‘feel’, as opposed to ‘see’, making the experience particularly individual, Oates explained.
The conceptual hotel suites and bedrooms are presented by renown designers from across Europe. Oy Vallila Interior Ab was founded in Finland in 1935 and offers in-depth expertise in textiles through its own design service.
Their projects include the design and decoration of hotels, restaurants, offices and cruise ships.
Studio Arcibella is a Helsinki-based interior design office specializing in public facilities in the hospitality industry.
The design approach emphasises individualized, high quality timeless design and includes feasibility studies, customized design, furniture/light design and budget management when required, Oates added.-TradeArabia News Service
