3,500 exhibitors for Dubai food summit

Dubai, January 19, 2011

Over 3,500 exhibitors at 81 international pavilions will take part in an upcoming food and hospitality conference in Dubai.

Gulfood Conference will be held from February 27 to March 2 at Dubai International Convention & Exhibition Centre. The exhibition will be attended by over 55,000 buyers from 152 countries and is well-known for following the latest trends in food and hospitality, a statement said.

With highlights such as the Gulfood Awards and the Emirates International Salon Culinaire, Gulfood‘s ‘Live Events' encourages and enables established and up-and-coming chefs to demonstrate their creative culinary skills.

“As a company, Hyatt places strong emphasis on sourcing ingredients and products from local and tried-and-true purveyors and artisans,” said Thierry Bertin, VP sales and marketing, Hyatt International, South West Asia.

“Our restaurants and catering menus provide delicious and innovative cuisine that highlights the best local or culturally authentic flavors and ingredients so such an event enables our Chefs to exchange ideas and to research a wide range of ingredients and products from hundreds of international producers,” he added.

Hotels, restaurants, as well as caterers and cafes wanting to keep abreast of changing consumer trends and cultural and market preferences will all have the opportunity to network with market leaders and industry experts to gain strategic insight and analysis.

“We are removing barriers and making our restaurants and banquet spaces more interactive by providing an environment where guests, chefs and service teams can talk and exchange preferences and comments as it is becoming increasingly important to bring the chef closer to the guest and vice versa,” Bertin concluded. – TradeArabia News Service
