MLA, Red Crescent team up for meat charity event

Meat and Livestock Australia (MLA) and the UAE Red Crescent have combined forces for the second consecutive year to hold the second Australian meat barbecue charity event in the UAE.
The event which will take place at Dubai Creek Park on January 28, two days after Australia National Day.
Australian Meat, the marketing arm of MLA, will serve for free a quantity of 500 kilos of the finest Australian sheep meat to the Park’s visitors who are encouraged to give cash and all in-kind donations (toys, clothes, electronics, etc.) for the Red Crescent to distribute to the needy around the world.
“We strongly believe in giving back to our community and we take seriously our corporate social responsibility initiatives in the region,” said Lachlan Bowtell, general manager, Meat & Livestock Australia – Mena.
“This charity event is unique and the 2010 edition proved to be very successful as over 1500 people representing all communities in the UAE took part in it. This year, we have added a lot of entertainment activities to make it an unforgettable fun day for children and families alike.”
“We believe that the Red Crescent is just the ideal partner for this event in light of its active humanitarian role and extended outreach. We do encourage the community to be actively involved in this charity event especially that this is a pertinent opportunity for parents to teach their children to be good community members by giving both cash and in-kind donations to unfortunate children around the world,' added Bowtell.

MLA has contracted a leading catering company, to handle the preparation and cooking of the barbecue as per the highest safety and hygienic measures.
The entertainment programme of the event will be led by an expert entertainment company and will include kids’ competitions as well as drumming and aerobic sessions as well as local, eastern and western music. – TradeArabia News Service
