Bahrain to take legal action against BBC reporter

Manama, March 25, 2011

The Bahrain Foreign Ministry has decided to take legal action against BBC reporter Caroline Hawley for trying to tarnish the Kingdom's reputation.

Contacts with London took place on Thursday to take necessary legal procedures in this regard.

The move followed a front-page open letter by a British engineer residing in Bahrain published by our sister paper Akhbar Al Khaleej and calls by editor-in-chief Anwar Abdulrahman to sue the reporter.

The open letter and the call appeared in the Gulf Daily News, our sister publication too.-TradeArabia News Service
