Al Wasl signs up Emirati soccer player

Dubai, June 19, 2011

UAE-based Al Wasl Football Company has roped in Emirati player Hamad Al Hosani for the next season. He is the third Emirati player to be signed by the club after Ali Rabih and Mubarak Hassan.

The 23-year old UAE attacker will play in Al Wasl for the next three years starting from next season under the management of its new head coach and star player Diego Maradona.

The UAE club is working hard to build a strong and competitive team for next season with the aim of clinching the Pro League title and securing a place in the Asian Champions League competition.

Commenting on the deal, Al Wasl chairman, Marwan bin Bayat said: “Building a team is like a construction project; the stronger the foundation the higher you can go. We know next season will be tough and so we’re making sure we are absolutely ready for the challenge.”

“Al Hosani is young and enthusiastic and this is what we are looking for, we want players who are hungry to win and who will work hard with Maradona to achieve exceptional levels of performance next season,” he remarked.

Al Hosani shared his happiness in joining Al Wasl and expressed pride in having been chosen by one of the biggest clubs in UAE football.

“I’m looking forward to starting the new season in my new yellow jersey. Al Wasl is a big club with a great history and I will do my best to live up to the fans’ and management’s expectations,” he remarked.

Looking to further strengthen their forward line, Al Wasl is still scouting a number of local and international names.-TradeArabia New Service
