Alexandria City Centre plans Ramadan drive

Cairo, July 31, 2011

Alexandria City Centre is set to present a ‘Make a Difference this Ramadan’ campaign, encouraging customers to donate everyday items society can often take for granted.

The campaign, running for the third year now will collect items such as clothing, books, reading glasses and mobile phones.

The initiative is part of Majid Al Futtaim Properties’ regional-wide Ramadan campaign, with all nine malls in the GCC participating.

Last year, over 62,000 items were gathered collectively and due to the overwhelming success, Alexandria City Centre will once again have a special collection box placed within the mall allowing customers to donate such items.

Charities this year will include Future Protectors, DaawaLelHaya, Resala and Sahabet El Khair, and all generous donations will ultimately be gifted to those in need.

“Ramadan is a time to reflect on the lives of those who are less fortunate than ourselves, and our Make a Difference this Ramadan campaign is the perfect opportunity to create awareness and reach out to those who need it most. Our aim this year is to build on last year’s success while continuing to spread the message of giving this Ramadan”, said Younis Al Mulla, head of Special Projects and Government Relations, Majid AL Futtaim Properties. – TradeArabia News Service
