Etisalat enables online donations
Dubai, August 7, 2011
Etisalat has made it possible for charity organisations to receive online donations through the Etisalat Payment Gateway (EPG).
Charity organisations with a web presence can leverage EPG service, free of cost in 2011, to generate online donations. Donors will be able to make donations through the respective charity organisations’ websites using EPG services.
Donations are traditionally made to the respective charity in cash or cheque payments. The creation of an online payment mechanism will encourage users to make donations at a click of a button, and further increase the in-flow of donations, through a convenient and interactive donation interface.
Commenting on the solution, Rashed Al Abbar, Etisalat’s director of e-Commerce said: “Ramadan is the Holy Month of fasting and giving, with Charity being a prime focus for many individuals and businesses. By enabling online donations through Etisalat Payment Gateway service, Etisalat wants to encourage both the charity organisations and the donors to utilise the effectiveness of e-commerce.”
The EPG service is a proprietary payment platform that enables real-time authorisation of payment transactions from Visa, MasterCard, Diners Club and American Express. EPG service offers an advanced, reliable, affordable and secure payment mechanism for organisations keen to develop e-commerce platforms. It enables secure and seamless transaction flow between the customers, online business, the bank and the credit card network. -TradeArabia News Service
