Minister to speak at fertiliser convention
Over 300 international delegates from the most influential organisations within the industry will take part in the Annual Fertiliser Convention which is to be held in Doha.
The event which is to take place from September 19-21 will be addressed by Dr Mohammed Saleh Al Sada, Minister of Energy and Industry in Qatar, a statement said.
The convention is being co-hosted by the Gulf Petrochemicals and Chemicals Association and CRU Events, for the second year.
The high profile line-up of speakers includes Dr U. S. Awasthi, managing director, Indian Farmers Fertilizers Cooperative (IFFCO) who will open the convention with his keynote speech on this year’s theme ‘Growth in Volatile Markets’.
The 2011 programme will focus on the current and expected future for fertilizer investment. It will highlight key players and stakeholders leading the way as well as the most influential regions and major projects likely to impact market balance.
Delegates will also have the opportunity to visit Qafco 5, the new plant being commissioned this year, adding to the Qafco production facility, one of the world’s largest single-site producers of urea and ammonia.
There will also be a special technical forum with interactive sessions on the second day.
“We are extremely delighted with the line-up of speakers for this year’s event and are proud that the minister for energy and industry will be showing his support to the region and to an event which provides global industry players with a platform to share expertise, exchange ideas, tackle the challenges and harness the opportunities that come with addressing long-term demand for fertilizers in international markets,” said Dr Abdul-Wahab Al Sadoun, secretary general, GPCA. – TradeArabia News Service
