Bahrain records 3rd coldest November

Last month was the third coldest November on record in Bahrain, it was announced yesterday.

Meanwhile, last Tuesday was said to be the country's coldest November day on record - with the mercury dipping to 12.1C.

The Civil Aviation Affairs (CAA) Meteorology Directorate revealed the mean temperature for the month was 23C, 1.3C below average.

'This goes on record as the third lowest (November) on record, being the same as in November 1973 and exceeded by November 1982 (21.7C) and November 1956 and 1997 (22.8C),' it said.

The mean maximum temperature for the month was 26.1C, going on record as the fourth lowest mean monthly maximum temperature for the month.

The mean minimum temperature of the month was 20.2C, the sixth lowest for November.

The month's maximum temperature was 32.8C on November 6.

Meanwhile, the weather office announced cold conditions were expected until at least Thursday, when the minimum temperature is expected to fall to 13C.

'High velocity winds, with gusts reaching up to 27 knots, are also expected to lash the country,' it said.
