GE to showcase advanced cleantech solutions

Abu Dhabi, January 16, 2012

GE will showcase its latest technology and service solutions at the World Future Energy Summit (WFES) that opens in Abu Dhabi today (January 16).

Hosted by the Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company (Masdar), WFES will run until January 19 at Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre under the theme “Powering Sustainable Innovation.”

“The world today requires innovative solutions to drive sustainable development, with a focus on energy and water use efficiency,” said Joseph Anis, GE Energy’s president and CEO for the Middle East.

“We all need to work together in the Middle East and around the globe, from individuals to large corporations, toward new solutions that can produce tangible results for a better world.”

“We view this event as an excellent forum to better understand from our customers their energy needs and to share with them how advanced technology is designed to enable them to achieve their strategic goals,” he said. “We are committed to helping Abu Dhabi meet its mandate to generate 7 per cent of its energy from renewable sources by 2020.”

At WFES 2012, GE will highlight advanced power, water re-use and oil and gas technologies, including GE solutions for modernizing the grid to meet our growing capacity, sustainability, economic and security needs.

It will showcase innovative and fuel flexible energy technologies that offer enhanced operational flexibility and efficiency including GE Energy’s FlexEfficiency technology, which integrates renewables with natural gas to produce cleaner, more affordable and reliable power.

GE will also display its new filter house technology, which is specifically designed to eliminate gas turbine shut downs for offline axial compressor water washes.

In the renewable energy arena, GE features wind turbines ranging from 1.5 to 4.1 megawatts, designed for high efficiency in all wind conditions and offering advanced technology grid integration features.

GE’s advanced dry low NOx (DLN) technology, which enables the lowering of gas turbine emissions during operations, will also be on show at WFES.

GE Energy is a regional leader in power generation, with more than 1,000 turbines installed throughout the Middle East and more than $8 billion in power generation projects announced in the past five years, a statement said. – TradeArabia News Service
