Windy and dusty weather conditions will continue in Bahrain today (March 19), weathermen have warned.

The country was buffeted by near gale force winds as temperatures dropped to 14 degrees and speeds reached 27 to 30 knots at times.

It started on Saturday night and continued yesterday, bringing visibility down to less than 1,000 metres at Bahrain International Airport.

The Traffic Directorate also cautioned motorists to be careful on the roads due to the conditions.

It also registered 50 minor and four "medium level" road accidents yesterday.

Meanwhile, Coastguards have warned fishermen and seafarers not to venture out into the sea unless absolutely necessary.

Winds with speeds reaching up to 15 knots are also expected to continue throughout the week, with the weather easing up and getting warmer by early next week, added meteorologists. – TradeArabia News Service
