900 firms to showcase at Dubai design expo
Dubai, August 13, 2012
More than 900 companies will showcase their latest products and designs at the upcoming 22nd annual Index International Design Exhibition in Dubai, the Mena region’s largest interiors and design exhibition, said organisers.
Index 2012 runs from September 24 to 27 at the Dubai World Trade Centre.
More than 45 countries will be represented at this year’s show, including national pavilions from Japan and Canada, both exhibiting for the first time at the show, added show organisers dmg :: events in a statement.
“We have been receiving increasing interest from local, regional and international companies,” said Frederique Maurell, Index event director.
“This is a testament that Index is a key platform for companies to share their designs and products with consumers in the Middle East. It is also another sign that Dubai still represents the regional hub for the interior and fit-out industry.”
Oman’s Poly Products, one of the largest manufacturers of super quality bedding in the Middle East, has once again confirmed its attendance at the show – making it the longest standing Index exhibitor in the show’s history.
Syed Anwar Ahsan, general manager, Poly Products, said: “Poly Products has been an exhibitor at Index UAE from its inception and we have seen it grow alongside us over the years.
“Each time we look forward to cementing the invaluable relationships formed in years past and forging new ones. We launched our luxury Cloud Nine line at Index UAE in 2010 and couldn’t have asked for a better platform.”
Relicta Design from Belgium, creators of environmentally sustainable designs – a key trend emerging at this year’s show, will be exhibiting at Index for the first time this year.
Tiziano Rutilo, co-founder & general manager Relicta Design, said: “Relicta Design is the surprising merge between aeronautics and interior design; our idea is to recycle and re-value old aircrafts carcasses in order to give them a second life. We've been looking to participate at Index exhibition for two years now and we’re glad to have finally made it since it is a great opportunity for us to enter into this market.”
“Index International Design Exhibition offers us an incredible opportunity to showcase our designs and network with professionals from the interior design industry, including our new range of sanitary fixtures, brassware and special care packs for special needs from Armitage Shanks, UK,” said Issac George, sales manager, Mac Al Gurg.
“This year, we are presenting our latest portfolio of Armitage Shanks Sanitary fixtures for the residential and commercial projects.”
Index visitors will be introduced to five completely new product sectors this year; Inspire, Surface & Finishes, Couture, Fixture & Fittings and Furniture have been added to the existing Furnishings, Kitchen & Bathroom, Lighting, Outdoor Living, Textiles and InRetail sectors.
Index will host a number of events and features, providing the design community with incredible networking and educational opportunities. The calendar of events includes: Design Talks, the 4th Annual Contemporary Majlis Design Competition, Les Collections Exclusives and The Artists Avenue. – TradeArabia News Service
