Northrop Grumman names new Saudi head

Northrop Grumman Corporation, a leading provider of security technology, has appointed Walid Abukhaled as the chief executive for its Saudi Arabian operations.
In his new role, Abukhaled will be responsible for accelerating growth and exploring opportunities for public-private partnerships in the kingdom, said a statement from Northrop.
His job will include co-ordinating the company's relationship with Saudi Arabia and providing strategic support to the company's Middle East business activities, it stated.
Abukhaled was most recently Deputy Minister for Industrial Affairs at the Ministry of Commerce and Industry in Riyadh, prior to which he was the president and CEO of General Electric, Saudi Arabia and Bahrain.
David Perry, corporate vice president and chief global business development officer, said: "Northrop Grumman has a long history of partnership with Saudi and Walid brings experience of growing capabilities in a multinational industry environment and extensive knowledge of Saudi Arabian and Middle East affairs that will enable us to build on this important relationship."
